Painting inspired by movie Ghost in the Shell

Painting inspired by movie Ghost in the Shell

I love painting commissions. The challenge and priviledge of creating a bespoke painting for someone.

Earlier this year a client asked me if I would produce a painting for him inspired by Japanese Anime movie 'Ghost in the Shell'. I have always been fascinated by the style and colours of Manga and Anime illustrations so I didn't hesitate to accept.

The client provided me with a few photo stills from the movie and asked me to take inspiration from these. He wasn't interested in a realistic portrayal of the stills or in including any figurative aspects. He asked only that I use the colour palette from the stills, including blue, purple, green and yellow, and create the painting in my own style.

This is what my client wrote when he saw photos of his commissioned painting:

"My first impression of the painting is that it looks absolutely incredible, it even gave me goose bumps! I love how the colours and the layering of the abstract cityscape give it a real sense of depth and perspective. The whole painting looks perfect. :-) Can’t wait to see it for real!"

Wow!

And when my client collected his painting, he was even more thrilled! :-D

If you're interested in a custom-made painting, please don't hesitate to contact me for more information.

Best wishes
