I recently decided to try creating some short videos of my paintings. Today I'm sharing the first of these painting videos with you:
'Chasing Gold' original abstract painting on metal.
With the texture, metallics and detail in my art, I often find it a challenge to get photographs to portray this.
For some time now my OH has been encouraging me to take my own video snapshots of my paintings. And in response I have been protesting that I'm not a professional videographer! "It doesn't matter", answers my OH each time. So, finally, I started experimenting with shooting short video clips in my art studio.
The results have a little camera shake in places since I'm not using a pro video camera or kit, or in possession of much video expertise. Hopefully, I will improve with practice! And I may invest in some kit as I go along.
In the meantime, I hope that this video of my painting 'Chasing Gold' will give you enjoyment. Plus a better idea of the texture, colours and detail in my art.
'Chasing Gold' is one of a very limited and exclusive series of four paintings on metal framework. This painting reflects the climb up the hierarchy of success to achieve bronze, silver and gold.
I love working on a variety of surfaces and those of you who know my work well are familiar with my paintings on plexiglass. So working on the metal framework and bulding up the texture was a joy!
I would love to hear your feedback on the video and the painting.
Best wishes
